Earn $1,000 dollars a day! Learn to beat Slots! Winning Strategy for just $50!

These are some of the claims that are easily found on the net from people who are offering you, a chance to get even with the house. How big a chance would you be taking on this offer? Can slots be beaten and is it possible to earn that kind of cash.
Gamblers like a bet, but stupid we aren’t, so let’s evaluate this proposition and see if it’s worth the ante.
To properly gauge these opportunities effectively one needs to have a grasp on the basics of the modern slot machine. Why it is that one gambler will win a jackpot after two minutes while you pumping the same slot full of quarters the entire night.

Today’s EGDs (Electronic Gaming Devices) are programmed to payout a certain ratio by the house, but they are not in effect controlled by the house. It all works on random number generators. Despite the authentic looking reels you may come across on any gaming floor, they chances of winning are pre-determined by a computer.
Within the machine, there is a small computer that pumps out thousands of random numbers per second. At the point where a gambler places a wager and presses the spin or max button the x random numbers are recorded where x is the number of reels.
These numbers are then divided by a set value, often 64 or 128. The result then correlates to a position on a virtual reel. The computer then consults a look up table to ascertain what this number on the virtual reel corresponds to on the actual reel. For example, lets say that the 1st random number generated was 2,481,632 it would be divided by 128. The result is 19,387 with 96 remainder. The computer would then look up in a table what positions on the actual reel corresponds to position 96 (the quotient) on the virtual wheel. Of course the virtual reel has 128 positions, the actual reel has fewer. Therefore a number of position on the virtual reel are the same position on the actual reel. This is how casinos program their slots to pay out. The tighter a machine is the more positions on the virtual reel correlate to blanks or small icons on the actual reel.
Assuming the jackpot on a 3 reel, single pay line machine was won when three of the same icons were displayed on the pay line, and also assume that the virtual reel only had one position on it that corresponded to that position, the odds of hitting the jackpot would be 128 cubed. Or 1 in 2,097,152. So what does this all mean?
In reality the outcome of a bet is determined the very moment the wager is placed. The spinning reels are spinning for entertainment value. The computer has already calculated what position it will move the reel to when it stops spinning.
Furthermore, the numbers generated are totally random. An equal chance of wining occurs with every spin. The chances of winning a jackpot on the next spin following a jackpot win are exactly the same as they were for the preceding spin. In other words, Slot machines are totally random, and therefore can’t be beaten, there is no sure fire system to relieve the casinos of their hard earned cash – if there was slot machines would not make up 75% - 85% of casino revenue.
They wouldn’t even be on the floor. Everyone knows that better odds can be found on any table game.
Having said all that, don’t be disheartened, there are ways to improve your luck and here are some:
1. Play your bankroll: decide what you are prepared to lose and stick to it
2. Always play all lines: This doesn’t mean you need to play the highest denomination on each line
3. Decide what you want to earn: Cash out when you get there. Many a punter has given hi winnings back to the casino waiting for one big win. Remember that once you have won it, its your. It’s no longer the casinos money. Waiting for the big payout means you are exposing yourself to tiny odds.
4. Play slots that have an advertised payout ratio. So while I can’t give you a magic formula for beating the slots, I can tell you that taking $50 and playing smart on any slot is a better bet than sure fire systems!
